Puy de Dôme, Auvergne
To the west of Clermont-Ferrand are 80 sleping vulcanoes of the chain of Puys in an area of 40 km². From the summit of the Puy de Dôme (1465 m), the chain of Monts Domes reveals it's majestic and mysterious character. Every vulcano uses its chames to get all admiration. The Regional Natureparc of the Vulcanoes of the Auvergne is the biggest parc in France.

To the east of Clermont-Ferrand is Livradois and Forez situated, joined together by the river "Le Dore". Here you will find a region of herbs and trees, tradition and skills, shaped by the nourishing water of the many wells and sources. The landscapes are a bit of a mistery but so divers and of an almost unprecedented beauty. The Roman art offers here also a true abundance of churches and buildings.

With it's many signposted walking- and mountainbike routes, it is a marvelous place for lovers of nature of all ages.
